Cute Kiddos

Cute kids right?  I had the pleasure of hanging out with EB from work and her two adorable kids.  We made Valentines decorations and Courtney, was holding one of them up that she made for Rudy, how cute.  I had such a blast, partly because I am a kid at heart :).  We watched Lilo and Stitch and I was just as focused in the movie as the kids were.

Adoption

God has given me a heart for adoption.  Sean probably thought it was just a phase when we were dating, but God has truly changed (if He needed to change) Sean's heart for adoption.  I would love to have one or two of my own kiddos and then adopt overseas.  There are so many children even in America and overseas that need a home.  I really want to adopt from a third world country where I can give a child, or children :) a better life.  I have wanted to adopt for so long now, even before the whole crazy celebrity adoption fad (Angelina Jolie).  I have always wanted to give a kid a home they never had.  I am so excited for when that time comes!  I just want to fly over to where ever we will adopt from and pick up my baby or toddler.  How could you say no to the pictures below?

Rudy Wednesday

I love the feeling of coming home after a long day and Rudy is just waiting for me to walk through the door.  He is so excited to see me no matter what.  I could have an awful day and just seeing his love for me makes me forget being at work or the cold weather and just see how amazing he is!  Having a dog is the best decision Sean and I have ever made.  I cannot believe I would love something so little as Rudy with all my heart.  I cannot wait to have kids, because if I feel a quarter for them as I feel for Rudy, then my life is complete.  I know I will love them more, but I did not even think I could care for this little guy as much as I do.  He is my little boy and my best friend.  I love taking care of him and him taking care of me.

I love Flannel

I love Flannel and could wear it everyday if my work let me do it.  I love wearing it when its cold and even at night in the summer.  I cannot have enough.  Sean would love to throw out some of my flannel, but he cannot stop me from wearing it!  These pictures make me miss my dear friend Sarah who left me for Florida ;(.  I went to her bday party one year and we both wore flannel without planning it (hence the second pic lol).

finished a book!

I am so excited, I finished book two in January 2011.  I borrowed a book from a friend a long time ago and finally decided to reread the book and actually finish it.  I read Velvet Elvis by Rob Bell.  It gives a really great perspective on Christianity and how simple it actually is.  I love how he portrays Jesus's love for people.  If you have not already read it, you should!

I love this quote: "Very few people in our world are offering anything worth dying for.  Most of the messages we receive are about how to make life easier.  The call of Jesus goes the other direction: It's about making our lives more difficult.  It is going out of our way to be more generous and disciplined and loving and free.  It is refusing to escape and become numb to and check out of this broken, fractured world" (Bell, p. 169).

Love cuddling up and reading when its snowing :)

Weddings!

I had the pleasure of attending the Zevenbergen/ Dennison wedding (I love weddings!)  Hayley Zevenbergen and I played soccer together starting in the 6th grade for the Hillwood Crew.  Man, I miss those days so much just playing soccer and not a care in the world.  This wedding was so much fun because it was a reunion to see my old coaches and old teammates.  The wedding was absolutely gorgeous.  It took place at University Presbyterian Church(UPC) and  the reception was at the Fairmont Hotel in Seattle.  It was so much fun!  The decorations were beautiful and so was the stunning bride.  Even the bridesmaids dresses were dazzling.  I cannot wait to see all of the pictures the photographer took!  I wish that all of my friends would get married so I can help them plan their special day!  I have the wedding fever.  I am going to 3 weddings this summer and cannot wait!  Eric and Laura, Kelsey and Adam, a fraternity brother of Sean's.

Love this picture!

This will make you laugh

So on Wednesday I finally got my new employee card that is different from a student card at WSU.  I was looking for something in my wallet and discovered I had my old Vandal cards from undergrad (I blurred my old student IDs).  I showed some ladies the one with the pink shirt and they were dying.  Some said I looked 12 or that I was a little pudgy.  Granted, my dimples make my face look fatter than it is, but still it was pretty funny.  the top one is my most current one.  Gotta love it!  It really made me laugh as well.  I am so glad I do not have braces anymore.  I cannot even imagine what my high school ID's look like....maybe another time :).  So glad its Friday!

What are your weekend plans?

Valentines Day

I have the most wonderful husband in the world.  Of course everyone says that after valentines day, but its true.  I was home from work bc I was still recovering from gastronemious (cant spell it) or food poisoning and pink roses were delivered to my office, but I wasnt there.  So the sweet ladies in my office made sure one of them (Thanks Elizabeth!) drove them to my house so I could see them on Valentines day!  That made my day!  Sean even tried calling the delivery place before they delivered them to my office bc I wasnt going to be there.  He also took care of me because I still wasnt feeling well.

Did I tell you what happened on Sunday?  If you are eating, please stop.  I started throwing up at 8am and even at the childrens church I had to excuse myself and throw up in the bathroom.  The thing that gets me was as I was throwing up at church, a woman came into the bathroom, bc I heard the door open and shut, then she heard me puke, then she left!  I would have at least said are you okay?  Anyway, after childrens church, I told Sean I could not sit through church like this and I ended up puking outside the church on the grass, classy I know.  I ended up puking 7 times total on Sunday, I could not even keep water or Gatorade down.  It was awful.  The last time I puked I was so dehydrated, I was dizzy and almost passed out.  Sean found me and had to hold my head up bc I was going to fall.  He then decided it was time to take me to the ER to get some help.  It took forever for the insurance and paperwork, but finally they started to treat me.  I almost threw up there as well, but they gave me anti vomit something and it worked really fast.  They also gave me two IVs to help with the dehydration.  I was really sore, but after a day of bed rest on Monday (doctors orders) I feel great now.

Rudy was also a trooper all day and he cuddled and took care of me.  He knew something was wrong on Sunday and kept watch over me on Monday.  I love him so much.  I was a little disappointed I was not at work on Valentines Day, bc I love seeing people and saying happy valentines day!  I even bought valentines candy :( but had to wait until Tuesday.

Work is going well, really busy, but going good!  The best part of my day on Sunday was that God was there the whole time.  Even, when I questioned what was happening (throwing up again and again) he never left my side.  It was really comforting and I knew I would get through this.  God is so great!  And as much as it sucked, I knew God would not let it happen to me if He knew I could not handle it.

Rudy all wiped out

Tried to dress up, but still looking really pale from Sunday.

The wonderful roses my husband gave me :)

Love this nail polish!  Reminds me of valentines colors!

How did you spend your Valentines Day?

Simple Life

One of my favorite things to do is to cuddle up with my husband and Rudy and just lay around the house.  Watch a movie or tv show and just hangout with my little family.  Just the three of us.  We got to spend some quality time last night and all day today, because I am not feeling well again.  I caught that darn stomach flu and have been throwing up all day :(.  None the less, it has been amazing with my two favorite guys!

What do you like to spend your time doing?
