Thank you Jesus for dying on the cross for my sins.

Thank you for dying for me, when I did not deserve it.  Thank you for LOVING me.

Book Club

I am so pumped to be in a book club!  I will be reading along fellow friends: Jen, EB, and Laurie.  I cannot wait to finish the book, hangout with friends, and to see the movie!  If you want to join along, borrow, buy, or check out Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen from the library and tag along.  We are still deciding on when to meet and what questions we will discuss, but anyone is welcome!  I am already a third through the book.

Book review by: Book Browse

An atmospheric, gritty, and compelling novel of star-crossed lovers, set in the circus world circa 1932, by the bestselling author of Riding Lessons.

When Jacob Jankowski, recently orphaned and suddenly adrift, jumps onto a passing train, he enters a world of freaks, drifters, and misfits, a second-rate circus struggling to survive during the Great Depression, making one-night stands in town after endless town. A veterinary student who almost earned his degree, Jacob is put in charge of caring for the circus menagerie. It is there that he meets Marlena, the beautiful young star of the equestrian act, who is married to August, the charismatic but twisted animal trainer. He also meets Rosie, an elephant who seems untrainable until he discovers a way to reach her.

Beautifully written, Water for Elephants is illuminated by a wonderful sense of time and place. It tells a story of a love between two people that overcomes incredible odds in a world in which even love is a luxury that few can afford.

Haiti

Sean and I are going to Haiti!  We are so pumped!  It has been a long process of prayer and seeing if my new job would let me take the time off of work.  Sean also had to see if he could leave during ‘crunch’ time of his thesis.  We are so blessed to have this opportunity to go to Haiti.  We are going with Brookview Community Church, my church back home and partnering with an organization called: World Wide Village.  If you want to know more about Brookview's history in Haiti you can go here.

All pictures are from the World Wide Village website

Sean and I want to adopt one day, and by going to a third world country and seeing the need for adoption, we cannot wait to start this process.  We will not adopt for awhile, but going there and loving on the children we are so excited.  We know it will break our hearts, but we are ready.

God totally wants to use us because some of the projects we are going to help with are education and water sustainability.  I will be aiding the teachers in Haiti (there are 8 of them with over 60 children) in a tiny one room classroom trying to teach 8 groups of students at once.  I cannot wait to use my degree and little experience with student teaching to help them!  Sean will also be helping with water purification, which is something he has worked on at WSU in his degree field!  We will also be playing soccer with the kiddos J and just loving on them!!!!!

Thank you to all that have supported us so far with prayers and financially.  We have to raise  a total of $4400 for both of us together to go on this journey.  We will be leaving on June 21st and coming back on June 30th.  I cannot wait!!!!  I will keep you updated as we get closer to the trip and of course, an update of our trip!

Faith

Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; but in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight" (NIV).  This verse I am trying to not only read it but apply it.  I struggle with letting go and allowing God to be in charge of all of my life.  But once I fully trust in him with everything, it will be according to his perfect will and why would I want to go against that?  It will take time and FAITH, but I am trying to let go and allow God's peace to guide my life.  Once God makes my path straight, I still have to walk the path, and that takes faith.  What are you holding on to and not allowing God work in your life?

    I Love my Husband

Sean went to Seattle from Thursday- Monday for a job interview with Darigold in Seattle.  I will explain later how it went J.  He stayed with my family and I really missed him.  It was great to see my cousins visit me in Idaho because Mitch is going to be a Vandal next year so they were here for Vandal Friday.  I will have to post pictures and fun stories later.  Anyway, I really missed my husband!  It was so good to see him last night and I cannot wait to spend some quality time with him.  He is really my best friend and I do not know where I would be without him.  Yesterday, before I was done with work he came and said there was a surprise and he had flowers!  He ceases to amaze me.  He is the sweetest person I know.  I am so blessed to have him in my life.  All the women were jealous in my office because one stated that she only gets flowers when her husband does something wrong.  How great is it that I get them just because!  I felt so special.  Thanks Sean!

pictures are not the best quality, because taken on my phone but they are still pretty

The flowers are really starting to open up now

    missing this......

Today, I really just wanted to lounge in a coffee shop reading a book all day.  Even in a library would have been complete bliss.  I love to read and have not been doing a good job lately.  I need a coffee shop date with a good book.

    House

I would love to have a big house where I could have people over all the time.  Where my kiddos could run around and invite other kids over.  I would also love to host every baby shower, wedding shower, bday party you name it!  I love having people over and opening up my home.  One day I would love to host Christmas and have extra bedrooms for people to stay if they needed too.

Isn’t that staircase beautiful?  I would love to have staircase like that in my house or one that accents the front entryway.

    IDAHO Alumni Game

The team all together again.  I am the pale one front row, second from the right :)

What is up with my hair?  Straight up lol?

I am so privileged to have been part of such an amazing organization and group of girls!  I went to the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho from August 2005-May 2009 and played on the Women's Soccer team.  Even though not all of the girls I played with could come, it was so great to see and catch up with old friends.  I hated the running, but miss the game and the girls so much! We as Alumni were not victorious, but we had a lot fun anyway :).  I cannot wait for when I get to come back and visit Moscow every year for the Alumni game.
